This course provides students with the ability to understand the relationship between OSHA and Cal/OSHA Standards, policies, and procedures. Students will identify hazards which occur in construction, and determine appropriate Cal/OSHA Standards (Title 8).
Course topics include Title 8 Construction Standards and compliance, training topics required in the 10 and 30-hour Outreach Training Programs, Injury and Illness Prevention Program, and Cal/OSHA training guidelines. Upon course completion Construction Outreach Trainers will be authorized to teach 10 and 30-hour Cal/OSHA Outreach Training Programs.
Individuals responsible for overseeing safety on construction projects such as: hospitals, highways, home building, cities, school districts, ports, refineries and many other projects.
Outreach Trainer looking to participate in the Cal/OSHA Endorsement program must have at least one year of verifiable safety and health experience with an organization governed by Cal/OSHA standards. Outreach Trainers will be required to sign a “Statement of Eligibility” form, prior to, or in their Cal/OSHA Partnership authorization course.
Course Length: 4 days
Recommended Materials: Pen, pencil, highlighter and writing pad. Outreach Trainers must bring Outreach Trainer Card to class to receive Cal/OSHA endorsement sticker.
Cal/OSHA Endorsement expires with the Outreach Trainer Card. When taking OSHA 502/503 to renew federal status, Cal/OSHA endorsement must be updated by taking OSHA 5029/5039.
